What Does India Imports?
As per India import shipment data, crude petroleum oils were the major product imported from India during FY 2022. Import value wise, India's top 10 major imports were Crude petroleum oils ($176 billion), Printed books, newspapers ($35 billion), Electronics integrated circuits ($24 billion), Gold ($21 billion), Steam coal ($20.4 billion), Coking coal ($20.2 billion), Anhydrous ammonia ($20 billion), Personal computers ($19.6 billion), Phosphoric Acid ($19.4 billion) and Parts, telephone, sets ($15.7 billion).
Based on overall India product imports, the top 10 commodities imports of India were estimated around $371.3 Billion with over 49.45% share of India's imports for 2022. However, In 2023, India’s imports saw a significant dip of 8.4%. According to the import data of India from January-June 2023, around $325 billion worth of imports were made by India.
